From when science became commercial till now, I am yet to hear of any invention that was put together and made to work at the very first attempt. In many cases, the inventors had to try and try till they arrived at the final product. Sometimes, the final product may not even be what they had in mind in the beginning. However, there would not even have been any product at all if they had given up after the first few failed attempts. They did not know what was on the other side but they knew they had to get there. They knew they wanted to get there, but they didn't know how to get there...they just knew they had to. They were not satisfied with being comfortable but they were not fazed by the challenges along the way.
History is packed with examples of people who kept trying until they achieved what they wanted to achieve and their stories have been sources of inspiration to many after rhem. If the Wright brothers had given up after their first few trials at building an airplane, it would have taken longer for man to fly across the sky. They kept improving on their designs and kept learning from their mistakes till they arrived at the first airplane that flew across the sky. The first men on the moon offered themselves as guinea pigs for the venture into space. They had no idea what they were subjecting themselves to but they knew it was going to reward not only them but the entire human race if they were able to step foot on the moon. New ventures can be risky but beyond the risk are rewards that are eternally pleasing and deeply satisfying.
When a child starts learning how to walk, there will be lots of failed attempts at getting up and walking but more often than not, the child gets up after each fall, and gives it another go. The child does not stay down and continue to crawl simply because the early attempts at walking did not work out smoothly. The time for them to start communicating follows soon after and then they are faced with new challenges of learning words, and learning how to use them. These challenges, we all went through and we did not stop growing because they were too overwhelming for us to overcome. As we went through childhood, we grew past all the challenges that we faced along the path of growing up.
Many of your goals this year may look scary and appear overwhelming but your driving force should be the satisfaction you will get at the other side after you must have conquered your fear. Many times, you will find yourself in unfamiliar terrain and will have no clue how to navigate. But like many of the scientists and inventors that we know, you should keep going till you arrive at a solution. It may not even be the one you had pictured before you began your journey but make sure you do not stop midway. Bear in mind that sometimes, you may even feel that you have everything figured out but then life may happen and throw your plans up in the wind.
Today, as advanced as technology has become and as instrumental as it has been in inventions, there are always updates to software and upgrades to hardware. Meaning you can always make adjustments on the go, as the prevailing conditions require. But one thing you should never consider doing is to stop trying. You should never allow your many failed attempts to discourage you, because those failed attempts will make you a tougher person by the time you arrive at the answer you have been looking for. It will not be easy, because the frustration will visit you often. They will all add up in the end to justify the growth that you would have achieved.
Giving up should never be an option. Remember that you did not get to where you currently are by giving up. The task ahead will not accomplish itself if you give up. The only way to get to where you want to reach is to keep going.
A little distraction is good...as long as you don't get carried away. Sometimes, it is good to pause to recharge.
The only way to get to where you want is to keep going. Thank you Mr. Olumide. Been distracting myself from the tasks that seem challenging. I better get to work.
